Aprilla Sportscity 125 Scooter makes a click sound

Aprilla Sportscity 125 Scooter

makes a click sound when engaging either brake. Did not do this last season. Thoughts other than get a real bike?

It only clicks once each time you engage.

its likely that the brake pads aren't quite a close fit in the caliper, so you're getting a bit of a 'click' as you take up the slack when applying pressure
so 1st check if the pads have more than 1mm of play and if they do then a fix is to remove each pad and apply some silicone sealent to the back of each pad taking care to to keep it off the piston , pull hard on the brake lever and then leave the sealent to go off overnight
this should then stop the pads from rattling about.

knocking sound at low revs and on idle

It would help if you had the airfilter on to get rid of some of the noise. The knocking sounds like worn rollers rattling in the variator as it seems to disappear once the revs raise a little and the rollers put pressure on the variator plate. I assume when riding it is quite when up to speed, is that right? Replace the rollers or better still put Dr Pully sliders in.

RS 125 Engine Tapping Sound

being a teo stroke these engines dont last long the aprilia has a high engine fail rate the noise is most prob the big end or small end bearings as these are common to go on this bike the main bearings make a rummbley scraping noise on idle best to get it looked at as when these go bangh thay can destroy the crank case too.

It could be a problem with the balance shaft gears. Mine did the exact same thing, and I immediately had a semi-stroke thinking it was the bearings, because the bike hadn't been driven nowhere near the mileage those are supposed to last.

If the problem isnt found anywhere else, id get the gears replaced anyway while looking at the wpump. They are made out of plastic and when they do go, they take every other plastic gear thats around them (oilpump, waterpump) with them. The gears themselves aren't that expensive."

Aprilia Sportcity 250 won't start

It sounds like your battery has failed.
The battery is dead/dying and that the warning light was to let you know that the voltage was getting too low. If that's the case, your charging system is probably not working and you may need a new regulator. First check the battery voltage and terminal hardware.

Aprilia rs 125 makes a clicking noise?it sounds like something is vibrating

Check your front brake pads pal!! mine done that and a had lost the pin from the pads.

Car makes a thumping noise when driving and steering wheel shakes

Thumping noise and steering wheel shake

Many things can cause a car to make those weird sounds.

Worn suspension joints - jack the car up so the wheel is off the ground (you’ll need to do this for all 4 corners) and shake the tyre from top to bottom and from side to side (with someone holding the steering wheel on the front) there should be no play in either direction. Any play in 1 direction will usually require a joint to be replaced, if there’s play in both directions then the wheel bearing may be at fault. If theres play only up and down its the strut top mount - to find this one you have to shake the suspension strut it self up and down with the wheel off the ground - so you may need to remove the wheel to check this one.

Now with the car jacked up on that side with the wheel about 2 inches off the ground use a steel bar under the wheel and lever the wheel up and down slightly, you should be able to look at the end of the axle and see if the suspension arm is moving up and down separately to the axle.If so replace the bush.

To feel if there's a worn strut top bearing then lightly hold the spring by hand and have your assistant move the steering from left to right with the wheel on the ground - a worn bearing will feel 'notchy' through the spring. The wheel needs to be on the ground for the test to load up the bearing.

Worn drive shaft joint - typically these won't produce any vibration unless badly damaged but they can be noisy or 'clonk' for a long time beforehand, turn the steering to full lock and look at the drive-shaft rubber boot there should be no rips or tears in it and the suspension should be clean and dry of any grease. If you reverse at a reasonable speed with the steering on full lock a worn joint will 'click'.

Worn mountings - check the tightness of the engine and gearbox mounts and their condition - this is best done by using a jack to take the weight of the engine off the mounts and seeing if any cracks or splits open up in the rubber. Also check the tightness of the mounts bolts.

Rotate The Tyres Manually And Check

If the noise changes with rotating the tyre then yes I'd agree the tyre is possibly worn off centre
if you look closely at the edges of the tread blocks on the outside of the tyre you will probably see they are scrubbed on one edge
so if the strut mount is worn its possible the castor or camber of the wheel is incorrect and so scrubbing the tyre
If you can't find any slack in the suspension I'd suggest taking the car for a 4 wheel alignment to reset the suspension geometry.

This Will Help.
Thanks.

Ford leaks oil when running

OIL LEAKAGE WHILE DRIVING

FORD LEAKS OIL

1971 ford 302.

There is a hole in the block on the left side (as looking at the engine from front of car) just above and ahead of the motor mount.
It appears to have been machined since it is perfectly round and un-threaded. Yes, it leaks oil when running.

First check:
is it just dripping out when running or coming out with pressure? Does it look like it may have stripped threads?

It doesn't correlate with any factory type oil feed or return and if someone had turbocharged it at some point in time the return would of been plumbed into the pan.
My suggestion would be to tap it for a pipe plug (3/8, 1/2 etc NPT) and see how it operates with the plug installed.

This Will Help.
Thanks.
