Should I OPT For New Truck

Is My Truck Life Over Or Getting It Repaired Is Still Worth

2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with 254K miles worth around $9k-$10K. He's had to put at least $10K into the car in the past 2 years. It is paid off so he has no monthly payments. But he's put the $10K onto credit cards which have monthly payments.Should he just keep his truck and drive it until it dies? Expecting even more things to go wrong?Or should he buy a new used truck and trade in this one. But then he'll have monthly payments?

First thing 254 k is allot of miles but I have seen these run up to and over 350 k in some cases with no major issues. It all depends on what shape the truck is in and how it runs for him.If there are other issues that need repaired it may be best to sell the truck and pay off the credit card debt then purchase a newer or lower mileage truck and have only one payment to make which may be cheaper then what the all together payments were on his credit cards. If the truck is in great shape and runs well then it may be worth keeping but at higher mileage like this here you do risk having issues later on down the road and possibly something significant like a transmission failure which may run $2500 to have replaced.
