Learn to Draw a Car and Impress Your Friends

Have you ever tried to draw a car and failed terribly? You should not let this discourage you from trying again. You can learn to draw a car if you have enough determination and will power to do it. When you learn to draw, you will realize that it is not so hard after all. You do not learn how to draw the perfect car in a day; you have to do a lot of practice.

What are you supposed to do in the learning process? Actually you will do nothing but a lot of drawing. Learning to draw a car is a step by step process. The first thing you have to know is how to draw the outline of the car. This means that you cannot rely on your memory at this point. You will need something such as a picture, another drawing or a car model to help you draw. After you are comfortably sure that you can draw the outline unassisted, you should start drawing other parts. Pick one part of the car at a time. Practice on it until you are sure that you can draw it well.

Once you have mastered how to draw the different parts of the car separately, the nest step is to draw a car with all the parts included. Always start by drawing a few rough sketches before you make your final drawing. As you draw the sketches, you can also practice shading and coloring different parts of the car. Within a few days, you should have polished your drawing skills and ready to draw your first real car.

When you draw a car following the steps and tips outlined above, you will surprised at how perfectly your car will come out, and even your friends will be impressed.

Trade In Your Old Car And Earn More

The used vehicle market is doing well these days and prices of used cars have reached their record highs. In fact, there are car dealers looking for the used cars that they could resell at a high price.

With prices of used vehicles at its peak these days, it might benefit you to trade in the old car you no longer find interesting to use. There are a lot of consumers wanting to own old vehicles and are willing to pay a high price for it. As long as it's still in good running condition and is fuel efficient, you have every chance to gain from trading it in. This is possible particularly after the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) increased the values of small and medium sized cars last June.

One of the reasons why the used cars are in demand nowadays is due to the shortage of the popular Japanese vehicles. The low number of new Japan-made cars resulted from the major earthquake that hit the country as well as from the global financial crisis.

Among the used cars, the price difference from their previous rates is pegged at more than a thousand dollars to $6,000. As an example, the NADA used car guide showed an almost $2,000 difference from the price of a one-year-old Honda Civic while the price difference for a three-year-old Toyota Prius was more than $6,000.

Although not all old vehicles are up in their prices, majority have higher trade-in values. The large SUVs are up nearly five percent while the cost of mid-size luxury cars is up six percent. Compared to the brand new vehicles, the values for late-model used cars are higher.

Experts also pointed out that for consumers who have gas efficient old cars, they can trade in their vehicles at a higher price. They also added that vehicle owners still leasing a car but are about to complete their term may be interested to consider trading in their vehicle. What they recommended, however, is owners determine first the residual value of the car and compare it with the trade-in value. It pays to know what you're getting before you turn over the keys to the dealer.

With leased cars, owners may need to exert more effort. An important step to take is to look into the market value of their vehicle by using online sites such as the NADA, KBB.com, Edmund.com, eBay and Cars.com. Then once you find out the information, you will have to put your negotiating skills to work in order to get a higher value from the dealer.

On the part of the car dealers, they will need to buy the leased vehicle from the leasing firm before they can resell it. They may also have to pay some sales tax but there's always an opportunity to profit from selling the leased car.

So if your car has served you well for the past few years and you may want to upgrade to a better one or a bigger vehicle, trading in may be the best option that could earn you profits.

Structure and Parts of a Gasoline and Electric Hybrid Car

The hybrid car is the new favorite among all the people who want to make the environment friendly choice. Although they have been in the market for almost a decade, it has only recently got very popular with the people as they are more affordable, efficient and the sense of responsibility to the planet is only just spreading. The structure of a hybrid car basically has a gasoline engine, a tank, electric motor, a generator, ECU batteries and the transmission. Each of these parts is discussed in detail in this article for your better understanding of the hybrid car.

Gasoline engine found in a hybrid car is only slightly different from the one on a regular car. It is smaller and designed to be more efficient while the working remains the same. The emissions are greatly reduced which helps with keeping it environment friendly. The engine is generally made of four cylinders or less. The gasoline required to run this goes into the fuel tank. The main feature of the car is the electric motor, which is always the most sophisticated feature of the entire structure. The latest developments allow it to be a generator as well during braking operations. This helps charge the batteries and improves efficiency.

The generator is found mainly in series hybrids where it is used to produce electrical power that is in turn used to charge the batteries. Apart from the fuel tank, the rechargeable batteries are the main source of power to run the hybrids. The energy used by the electric motor comes from the power present in the batteries or from the gasoline engine. The electric motor is able to not only draw power from these batteries but they can also charge them during certain actions. Electronic Control Unit(ECU) is what controls the source of energy used during various conditions. It also determines when to switch between using gas and electric power. The energy requirement during certain driving condition can be such that the power from the batteries isn't enough or the batteries aren't charged enough. At times like this the ECU will switch the control to the as engine. It also gives the user a feedback on the range, miles cover per gallon, etc. All the data obtained is displayed on the dashboard for the driver to see.

The transmission present in the hybrid is similar to the one found in regular cars. Although the working is similar, the transmission can be powered in different ways depending on the model of the car. The parallel hybrid used both the power of the gasoline engine as well as the electric motor for propulsion. Here, while the gasoline engine is connected to the transmission, so is the electric motor. The working of a series hybrid is different as the energy obtained from the gasoline engine is used to charge the batteries, which then run the electric motor. The motor is the only thing connected to the transmission.

What Do I Like To Do Business Concepts - I Like To Fix Up Old Cars and Do Restoration

As a car enthusiast, I've been to at least 50 auto shows, car museums, and many classic car rallies. Over the years, I've also been engaged in high-end auto detailing, so I've been able to put my cotton picking hands on some of the most exotic and expensive classic automobiles around. If you are also a car enthusiast and you love cars, perhaps you might want to consider starting a business which can incorporate your classic car consumption in a moneymaking venture. Okay so, let's talk about this for second shall we?

What if you start a business as a Classic Car Restoration Consultant?

You see, it takes a lot of research to restore a classic or antique automobile to original, and not everyone has the patience for that. If you have a classic car and you take it to an auto show there are contests for the most original. Thus, you have to be very careful not to have modified the car in any way. In fact, people often seek out special materials which do not exist anymore, or try to re-create the same types of materials using similar processes. There are all sorts of catalogs for classic cars so you can get the parts you need, to keep it fully original. It's a tricky business.

Another way you can take your love of automobiles and classic cars and turn it into a passionate business model is to buy a franchise where you will be appraising classic, exotic, and antique cars. Folks that buy and sell at the auto auctions need to know what their cars are worth at any given time. Insurance companies also need to know the value of the car, and therefore antique car appraisers are highly sought after. It's a good way to make money, and it is yet another way to get up close and personal with some of the most exotic antique cars in your state.

Finally, you might consider starting an auto detailing business. If you specialize in only high-end antiques, sports cars, and classics you'll be surprised how much you can get paid keeping everything pristine. Lastly, if you love the open road and traveling, you might get a job transporting these classic antique cars to auto auctions, museums, and other events. People pay a lot of money to make sure their cars are not damaged, and they always hire professional car transportation services.

Why not start a business doing something what you love and have the perfect excuse for being around the automobiles that you dream about? Please consider all this and think on it.

How To Protect Your Car And Treat It For Rust

Cars today are more expensive than ever. Many cost more than the average Americans paycheck. Most Americans have car loans that average over 60 or even 72 months. That's basically 6 year car loans with very hefty payments, so if we are going to invest that much money, not to include taxes and insurance, in our cars than we best protect them and make them last as long as possible. One area of grave importance is rust protection and treatment.

Rust is like cancer for a car. Once it starts it will only get worse and grow. Being that every car manufacturer except Saturn uses sheet metal and all use metal frames and undersides, rust is a major problem. Rust isn't just a northern state problem. It can happen anywhere that there is moisture, extreme weather, salt (road salt used in winter weather and salty air and spray from the ocean). Rust can be prevented and treated, however.

We have seen commercials showing us what extreme weather and conditions can do to our cars and trucks. Your vehicles sheet metal is coated by a thin protection of primer paint and clear coat. All it takes is a small nick, a chip, road debris, even hail to cause this very thin protective layer to become damaged. Even the smallest damage like a little cut can let in moisture and this will start the oxidation of the metal commonly called rust. Rust is basically a loss of electrons which weakens the metal and allows oxidation to occur. Every car gets door dings in grocery parking lots, rock chips from trucks and vehicles on the road (tip, never follow a construction truck too closely as they are always throwing rocks), etc.

It is a good practice to clean and wax your car at least every two weeks and while doing so, look for any possible areas where rust could start. Look for nicks, scratches, dings, anything that breaks through the paint. It is important to notice these areas as early as possible so you can prevent rust from ever starting. To treat a deep nick or scratch, it is important to cover the spot and seal it from moisture.

Touch up paint matched for your cars exact color will of course look best and give good protection. If touch up paint is not readily available you can use a clear touch up or even clear nail polish. Be sure to use a toothpick instead of the included brush for application. The included brush will put on too much and actually make the repair standout. It will build up both sides of the scratch or nick. A toothpick works better as it will put the touch up paint directly where it is needed, inside the cut, nick or scratch.

For best results either go to an automotive dealer or an automotive parts store whom can easily locate your particular cars paint. The exact paint will look best and help hide the repair. Some cars have clear coats and will look best with a clear coat touch up after the initial repair. This will help seal out moisture and keep your car rust free.

If rust has already started than there are treatments available for this. It is a little more involved, though. You must sand the area until the rust is gone and there is just bare metal. Wal Mart carries a scratch repair pen that works great for minimizing the area affected. Next a product like NeutraRust is added. This will actually chemically alter any rust that is left and prime and seal the surface for paint.

It is a good idea to check the underside of the metal where the rust occurred to make sure it hasn't penetrated to the other side. If it has then treat it the same way, but instead of touch up paint there are under car spray treatments that will give thicker and longer lasting protection.

For surface area repairs follow up with touch up paint. This also works with larger areas, but it may be easier to have a body shop do the job as the results will be much more noticeable. A good idea that will save you some money is to stop by your local car dealers used car department. Ask for the paint touch up guy that they use or what days he comes. He will do the repair for you at a fraction of what a body shop would charge and it will be very professional.

There you have it, how to treat and prevent rust from little nicks to bigger problems. A little proper care really can make your car last that much longer.

Getting Cash for Cars and More Cash for Junk Cars

Before selling, any of your good cars makes sure that the title of the car is available, and then visit a mechanic to check for it any problems and get it cleaned to impress any potential buyers. Remember that you are doing this to get big money for any cars that are still in good working condition. If you are looking to get money for cars you are selling you need only to assure that said the car has a title and you need an assessment value to ensure that you are getting the maximum value for cars you are selling.

The next step is to find a potential buyer in the car market who pays good money for any vehicle that are still good and advertising in print or online is the best way to do it. Seasons have an effect on said market so it's easy to find people who will pay for cars that are in demand during the said season. Any potential buyers will pay good money for cars that are family sedans for any basic inexpensive during the spring break or summer holidays. It is a slow time to sell cars during fall and winter is hard, but if you do know of someone who is willing to pay cash for cars you're selling during said seasons let them know that you have what they need.

There is also a market for people who pay cash for the cars that are classified as collector cars like a 1966 Ford Mustang GT and a 1940 Ford Custom. Such cars take some time before being sold because said buyer will want to evaluate the price of the car first. However, with the right buyer expect goodly sum of cash for the cars that you are buyer has taken a fancy.

Now you are thinking of getting cash for the cars that you have around. Let the buyer know what body parts and systems don't work anymore and you must also let the buyer know which parts are missing. Try getting your junk cars repaired; you can expect a buyer to pay more cash for junk cars that are working and road worthy.

If you are junk cars, seem to be unsalvageable, try checking it again. You might be surprised to know that you can get some cash for derelict cars that have parts that are salvageable and can be sold individually. While it seems to be a good idea to get cash for junk cars that are whole, in some cases it is better to sell each car part individually. To save some money try delivering junk cars yourself instead of getting it towed, salvage yards that have towing services will be billing you for such services and you can also get more money for junk cars that they will not have to drag.

Used Car and Free Car

Owning a car becomes the necessity in today's motorized world. Not every one can afford a new car; so many people turn their attention to the used car. There are certain basics that have to be followed before buying a car, especially if it is a used car

You would better have an estimate about the spending. In this way you can choose the car that fit in your budget. You should research several types of cars and collect more information, which may make your selection much easier.

Do not forget check the hidden points. It is very important for you to know the history of the used car. You should carefully check the body line which can tell you whether an accident happened to the car. You can check any sign of repainting, similar color body parts and check for mechanical and technical problems. You should enquire about its ownership. It was owned by a single or multiple owners. If it has multiple owners, the value will be of depreciation depending upon its condition.

If you are unfamiliar with the car, you can consult a mechanic or get it rated in authorized service center. You can also contact the dealers to know about the warranty features and also about the resale value of the car.

You can not decide to buy the car by having an overall look. You should take a test drive so that you have a clear picture about it. When in test drive, you should carefully check the engine, noise, vibration, steering wheel, etc.

You should try your best to negotiate for price. Keep in mind that you always have your say in terms of bargaining. Before you go for your car shopping, ensure that you are aware with the value of the car you're buying and the value of trade in. In short, you should be always ready for the bargain-battle.

Accessible Nitrogen Gas Dispenser For Cars and Light Trucks

With the increasing prices of petroleum based fuels - most notably gasoline, the motoring public is looking for ways to improve the fuel efficiency of their cars. Different aftermarket products are easily available to them and the use of which can dramatically increase their car's fuel efficiency. For those who are planning to buy cars, they may opt for alternative fuel powered vehicles or a hybrid electric vehicle like the Toyota Prius.

A car's wide array of components plays roles in the fuel efficiency of a vehicle just like the Volvo S40 parts that determine how an S40 performs. One of the parts in the wide array of vehicle components that can contribute to better fuel economy is the tires although the fact is commonly overlooked except by a knowledgeable few.

While the fact that the tires play a major role in the fuel efficiency of a car is always overlooked, the US Energy Department stated that by having under inflated tires, we lose as much as two million gallons of gasoline everyday. The most commonly used gas to inflate a car's tire is oxygen. The use of ordinary gas can lead to faster diffusion which will result to an under inflated tire. The answer to this predicament is the use of nitrogen. Since nitrogen diffuses slower than oxygen and is more abundant, the gas is a logical solution to the problem.

TireLast System, a company located in Lafayette, Colorado, capitalized on this and developed their UltraAir nitrogen. The UltraAir nitrogen gas is a compressed gas devoid of oxygen and moisture.

The use of UltraAir results to lesser diffusion and therefore reduces the incidences of under inflated tires. The use of UltraAir is so successful that the company received requests for a self-service nitrogen tire filling station. The company is, of course, glad to oblige. This is evident in their development of an UltraAir Nitrogen Vending Machine which is card operated for use by car and light truck owners.

The vending machine will be featuring a smart card that users can use to pay for the amount of nitrogen gas consumed as well as for the microprocessor which controls the tire filling capability of the machine. The vending machines will employ a VendiPay prepaid card which will be available in stores soon. The availability of such machines allows car owners to fill their tires and pay for them easily and relatively inexpensively. The machines will be manufactured in Colorado and will soon be available for the eagerly waiting motoring public.

Aside from the fact that nitrogen diffuses slower than oxygen, the UltraAir Nitrogen is also devoid of moisture. The presence of moist air inside a car's tire is a reason for some tire blowouts. The effect of moist air inside a tire is it weakens the tire's internal steel belts. Therefore, using UltraAir that is devoid of any moisture, motorists are less prone to having tire blowouts which can be a very inconvenient predicament. The use of UltraAir will not only lead to longer diffusion of the tires but also protect the internal steel belts of the tires.

The use of nitrogen on car tires as a pressurizing agent would definitely decrease the number of vehicles out in the road today with under inflated tires. It has been estimated that 30 to 50 percent of all vehicles currently being employed has at least on tire which is under inflated. With this in mind and the fact that a tire's condition affects the fuel efficiency of a car, the use of nitrogen in tires will surely be welcomed.

Buying Your Part Over The Internet

A lot of people seem to find the classic car parts that they need through the Internet on auction sites. These auctions are just regular people who are selling some of their own stuff. Classic car restoration parts are not cheap so make sure that you check out the seller as much as possible before sending them your money or any of your personal information.

How to Buy Repo Cars and Build a Sure Profit Business - Get Cool Cars With Huge Discounts

Ever wondered how can you get a huge, and I mean huge discount on the car that you always wanted? The answer is: "Buy repo cars!" People all over US, UK, and other countries buy repo cars and some of them even started businesses by doing it while they also drive cool cars that they always wanted.

How can you start a business from buying repossessed cars?

Well, the process is very simple:

1. You go to a website that has some kind of connection with the companies and departments that seize cars from people that haven't paid their loans, or people who are investigated for criminal activities.

2. You chose the car that you want, take part to the auction (online) and get the car. You can find any car from old Chevy's to brand new 2009 BMW's, Lamborghini's or Bentley's. Another great part is that most of these cars are all in great shape because the people who gets their cars repossessed don't expect the bank to come and take away their cars or they will usually will try to pay their loan and that's why they will keep maintaining the car.

3. You sell the car for more than you bought it.

This business idea could bring you a lot of profits because usually, the repo cars have discounts of up to 90%, depending of the brand, catalog price and a few other factors. Let's make a short example:

You get a repo 2003 Corvette for $13,900, normal price of $23,000. You post an ad on the internet or in the local newspaper where you say that you sell you great Corvette for $19,000. People will understand that this is a bargain and they will come to your door asking details and wanting to see the car. One of them will of course buy after he sees that the car is well maintained and the price is cheap.

Essential Tips For Sourcing Out High-Quality, Hard-To-Find Cars and Used Car Parts

Reputation is a valuable commodity to have in business. It determines the direction your company could take and drives your position in the industry you're in. When you're in the business of retail auto sales, you'll want to establish the best kind of reputation - the kind that lets your consumers know you provide top notch cars and tells your competition you mean business. A great part of ensuring this goal is seeking out and obtaining reliable sources for your needs. From the actual cars you'll be selling to the necessary used car parts you'll provide, here are essential tips to getting a good supplier.

Find a reputable, licensed export company that can provide a large choice of vehicles. Always make sure that your exporter can meet your business demands so that you're able to meet your customers' needs. Are your customers looking to get cars from Japan? Do they need a hard-to-find engine for a Daihatsu, Toyota, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi or Nissan? When you meet with your prospective exporter, be sure to go over all the necessary items your auto business will need.

An excellent supplier must be fully licensed and independently verified Japan-based trading firm of new and used cars, reveals that most exporters may be able to provide only a small portion of the existing stocks in Japan. This could prove to be challenging if your business happens to offer mostly Japan-made cars, parts, and even half cut cars. The company's approach, in comparison to most trading firms, is that it gets product from a variety of sources. Instead of just wholesalers and retailers, the company's contacts span dealers, auction houses, recyclers, private sellers, the Yahoo! Auction and Rakuten (recognised as Japan's Amazon). An exporter of this calibre will be able to deliver your auto business's very specific needs, from new and used cars to thousands of car parts.

Once you've ensured that your car and parts supplier can guarantee high-quality cars and used parts, make sure that it uses an efficient process that ensures the cars and parts you've purchased arrive on time and in good condition. This will mean asking your supplier about their payment process, shipping choices, and storage facilities. You'll want to make sure that the payment process is quick and convenient. You'll want to get a guarantee that you can use either containerized or roll-on roll-off shipment when necessary. You'll also want to look at their storage facility, whether it's secure and appropriate for the product you've ordered, like Toyota forklifts from Japan. Incidentally, the company's services offer those and more.

Your auto business's success hinges on the reputation you establish in the industry. Don't let your company's good name be tarnished by choosing the wrong kind of supplier. Get high-quality, hard-to-find cars and auto spare parts from a reliable and reputable source and ensure your auto business's good reputation today.

Scrap Car and Get Lucky!

Most of the times when your car gets old, there is nothing much you can do but throw it away in the junkyard. And mind you, this does not give you any money in return and ultimately you have to give away your car for peanuts. Scrap car removes all these problems - it helps you in disposing off your car in a safe way and also gives you money in return. Now this is what I call intelligent work!

Scrap car involves removing the parts of the car, one part at a time and reselling them in the open market to consumers. It involves a series of steps which ensure that this process is completed safely and without posing any hazard to anyone. There are many materials in the car which can be harmful to humans and if the correct procedure is not followed, it might have long term implications on people.

The most important step is to make sure that the car is dry, for which it is essential to drain all fluids present in the car, for example the drain fluid, the cooling fluid and oil (fuel). Batteries should also be removed first because unused batteries leak harmful chemicals which pose health problems even if they come in contact with humans in small quantities.

Next, one should remove the light parts of the car such as the window shields, tail lights, front lights and other such peripheral material which can easily be taken out of the car. After this you should remove the car seats and then move to other heavier, more important parts such as the engine and radiator.

Removing the seats might be a little tricky and involve a lot of hard work. Take extra hands if needed else you might end up just ruining the seats and losing up on a substantial amount of money.

However, if you don't have enough time on your hands and find the whole business of scrapping a car rather time taking and cumbersome, you can also give your car away to a scrap yard to do the job for you. Scrap yards take care of all the aspects of scrapping a car, including issuing a destruction certificate which shows that your car has been disposed off in an environmentally friendly way. Make sure you get this certificate as otherwise you might be held for not disposing off your car properly, since the law now needs you take care of the environment, this might be a big problem.

Make sure you go to a scrap dealer which gives you the right returns for your car and does not take you for a ride. Many scrap dealers will tell you some slight flaw in your car and reduce the amount of money they owe you. Getting a little bit of hands-on knowledge on your car helps in getting a good deal on the car parts as you'd know where the dealer is not giving you full information. Drain the oils before you take the car to the yard, the less work they do for you, the more money you will get out of your car. Take the help of the Internet to find the best dealer as it is a more transparent medium to find exactly what you want.

Upgrading Your Car and Lowering Your Car Insurance

MTV "Pimp My Ride" was one of the hit shows of MTV in 2007, it features old cars that are almost ready to be thrown in the junkyard but through customization and modification, the car would end up as one sweet ride. One of the episodes where a van, in the worst state ever, with rusty tail pipes, faded paint job, cracked windows and a side mirror that just hangs because of duct tape, with cockroaches swarming inside it, was customized and brought back to its crisp condition. Right after it was customized the van was rigged with a portable LCD monitor complete with a DVD player, a surround sound system and a built in Jacuzzi inside. Clearly, "pimping" the car caused a lot of cash. Upgrading a car is really expensive from custom paint job to additional parts. It could really put a hole in the car owner's pocket.

Car owners upgrade and customize their cars for aesthetic reason. Los Angeles, California is home to many upgraded and customized cars. Upgrading a car is like an investment but it is an expensive one, which is why many car aficionados are always looking for affordable California car insurance quotes online. When you are investing on something, you want that specific object to be safe and protected, in the case of upgraded cars, having car insurance will give security and protection to your prized car from damages from various causes.

If you add special parts to your insured car, your premium will go up, if you have money to spend on these parts go ahead but keep in mind also that expensive car parts attract thieves. Whenever you install special parts to your car, always keep the receipts and transaction papers, so in the unfortunate event that your car got stolen, these papers will help you in the claiming process.

To lower the risk of your car being stolen, security upgrade is what you need. Alarm systems and GPS tracking devices could protect your car from car thieves, most agencies consider these devices as deductibles since it protects your car, which means if you have these devices you get to pay lower rates.

Car accidents can happen to everyone and auto insurance will help you financially after the car accident, but what about your safety in the actual car accident? Many drivers have lost their lives in unfortunate road accidents, so what should you to protect yourself? Car protection and safety upgrade. Get some passive restraint system. These are devices that work on it's own to protect motorist and other passengers from bodily injury during a car accident. Air bag or seatbelts are examples of a passive restraint system. These types of safety devices are a must for every car owner, not only in enhancing the safety of the car's passengers but also in getting discount offers from insurers.

It is not bad to custom your car and ride in style however because of tough times, one needs to consider practicality in upgrading their cars. California car insurance quotes online are abundant and are offered almost readily by insurers so it is easier for a motorist to find a good deal while surfing the internet. Keep in mind that the best upgrade you can give your car that improves protection and safety to its passengers is auto insurance.

Environmentally Friendly & Green Driving - Save Money & Car Fuel Part 2

The latest economic rescue package is not helping much for the general public, at least for a good half a year before we see effects of an slight economic turnaround. Fuel prices are still escalating, food prices has not fallen, you still need to travel to work, to school and earn a living. This is part 2 of that endless car fuel saving tips which I have started to help us tie over the money crunch.

Below is an added list of ways on achieving fuel efficiency, conserving gasoline and attaining cost savings the easy way:

Set Cruise Control at a Fixed Level of Consistent Fuel Usage when driving a stretch of long freeway (or highway). This helps to reduce the intermittent and inconsistent fuel injection by human manual driving which could cause greater wear and tear to your car.

Combine Several Short Trips Helps Save Fuel And Save Money. Once your engine is warmed up they generate less air pollution, so keep it running over a few so combining several short trips into one can make a big difference.

Park it in your Covered garage.Yes, you can save fuel and energy simply by parking your car in a covered garage whenever possible, especially in winter and summer. You would then avoid exposing your car to harsh winter snow and ice as well as the torturing summer sun. This helps you warm up the car faster in winter and cool it better in summer.

Remove Excess Baggage. Get rid of items not required on a daily basis. The most common are golf sets, snow chains, fishing gear etc. Reload on a need to use basis.

Catch that Greyhound Bus. I am not selling for The Greyhound here, but if you have to travel across states or provinces, consider taking the coach. The scenery could do you some good, not to mention the stress of driving across unfamiliar towns and provinces.

Avoid Keeping Your Engine in Idle Mode for long periods. If you are stuck in traffic and you don't think you are going to go anywhere in the next five minutes, you may want to turn your car off.

New cars do not need to be warmed up for long period of time. So as much as your pocket can help it, change to a new car. And a New Hybrid Car at that too.

Keep good car habits. Before you switch off your car ignition, remember to switch off all electrical units like the car hifi sound system, air conditioning, heating gadgets, compartment lights as well as head lights. This avoids drain on your car battery, reduces maintenance costs.

Communal car pooling is definitely a viable solution to if you could find like minded colleagues who are neighbors living within your vicinity willing to pool resources.

Avoid Rush Hour. And yes, that is the very famous but always ignored suggestion. As much as procrastination gets you, try harder. In countries where they install electronic road pricing measurement ERP gadgets, you could find yourself doubling your fuel consumption, doubling your fuel costs and your travel time. Worst of all, the electronic road pricing slaps an additional toll charge whenever you pass a particular gantry at rush hour!

There are more tips to come at the next episode of Endless Money & Fuel Saving Car Tips. So stay tuned. And also visit my site for more information on car tips and hybrid cars.

What Makes A Car Safe? Part 2

In my last article, I explained the difference between a car's 'passive safety' (the ability to protect you in the event of an accident) and its 'active safety' (the ability to help you avoid having an accident in the first place).

Both are equally important although active safety tends to be less understood and thus often overlooked. The profile of passive safety in modern cars has been raised by programs such as EuroNCAP, but obviously not having an accident at all is preferable even to a very small accident.

Modern cars have a whole range of advanced electronic systems which help a driver to maintain control of the car in an emergency situation and reduce the chance of having a crash. Even the most basic new car will come with anti-lock brakes (ABS) and usually some form of Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP, or sometimes referred to as VDC, PASM or other acronyms depending on the manufacturer).

ABS prevents the brakes locking when you jump on the pedal, so that you can still steer rather than sliding straight ahead. ESP is a very clever system which recognises where you are trying to steer and whether or not the car is actually going that way. If the car's direction doesn't match where you are trying to steer it, ESP can brake individual wheels on the car and even cut throttle if necessary to help the car go where you are pointing it. It is very helpful in slippery conditions where the car wants to slide straight on instead of turning (understeer) or spin around backwards (oversteer). If it is all working well, you don't even notice anything is happening.

Many modern cars have a whole host of electronic systems in addition to the two examples above which can help make the car 'safer' to drive. These systems can make the car more predictable in its behavior, slow it down slightly to allow tyres to maintain grip, even apply different levels of braking to each wheel to keep the car balanced. All of these things make it easier for the driver to maintain control of the car, and therefore less likely to have an accident.

Some very advanced technology is available in luxury cars which takes this even further. Blind spot monitors use cameras to keep an eye on your blind spot and warn you if you are about to move over in front of another car, or helps to stop the car drift out of its lane. Some cars can 'recognise' speed limit signs and flash you a reminder. Night vision technology is available to identify pedestrians outside of your headlights' range. There are advanced cruise control systems which not only maintain your speed, but can speed up or slow down to follow the car in front and even brake the car from 150mph to a complete stop if necessary.

Last year I drove an Audi A8 in Germany, on autobahns and around towns as part of an Audi training program. Over a 20-ish mile drive route in a convoy of cars, I went from 60mph to 150mph (unrestricted autobahn, not through city streets) to a complete stop to 140mph and back to a complete stop, overtaking other cars, following other cars, got stuck behind a truck for a while, trundled through a village and eventually pulled into a car park and stopped. At no point for more than 20 miles did I touch either the brake or the accelerator. Yet the car had behaved itself perfectly, faithfully following the car in front without ever getting too close. For the first half of the journey, my foot was hovering right over the brake pedal just in case, but the car's systems were clever enough to 'read' the traffic conditions and respond accordingly. Once I got over the surreal feeling of a car accelerating to over 150mph (250km/h in the metric world) and stopping from that speed with no pedal input from me, it was actually a very comfortable drive and made the trip more relaxing. The system used two radar units, a camera, the parking sensors, the satnav system and a powerful computer system to gather and process a huge amount of information and make split-second decisions all along the way.

But active safety isn't just about electronics. Any aspect of a car's design or engineering which helps a driver avoid an accident is an active safety feature. The thickness and placement of windscreen pillars, for example, has an important effect on a driver's ability to see oncoming traffics at roundabouts. A lighter car will respond more nimbly to changes of direction (say, swerving to avoid a dog on the road) than a heavy car. Modern tyres are much better at dispersing water in heavy rain, making it less likely that you will slide off the road. More sophisticated suspension systems help cars stay better balanced on the road, even at high speeds or when towing heavy loads.

Ultimately, an 'actively safe' car will be one which is easy to drive, predictable in its behavior and gives the driver confidence when action needs to be taken. Predictable behavior is safe, so that a driver knows exactly how a car is going to respond and will instinctively steer and/or brake when a problem presents itself. A car that behaves unpredictably leads to a driver acting hesitantly and not taking enough action to avoid an accident.

When test driving a car that you are looking to buy, it is important to consider how comfortable you find the car, and how easy it is to see ahead, behind and to the sides. Every person is different, to the position of seat, pillars and mirrors will affect everyone differently, and that will affect how you are able to respond to an emergency situation. Make sure you give the brakes a good shove (make sure there's nothing behind you and that the other people in the car know what you're about to do!) so you can get a feeling for how the pedal feels. Check your blind spots, check your mirrors, check how well you can see traffic - especially bikes - at roundabouts and so on. If you are looking at a used car, check the tyres to see how new they are and whether they are a reputable brand or a brand you've never heard of.

In the third and final part of this feature on car safety, I will be talking about what you can do to make your current car safer.

How to Customize Your Car and Make It Work Better for You With Remote Car Starters and Audio Systems

When you purchase a car, you try to get one that will fit your needs exactly. However, getting precisely the right combination of features is not always possible, especially if you're working within a specific price range. Yet, many of the features that you might be interested in can be installed by a professional after purchase or added to an existing vehicle that you already own. Car starters and car audio accessories are two of the most popular of these options, and both can drastically improve your driving experience.

A car starter is a device that allows you to start your car remotely. This may sound like overkill to some people, but think of the benefits of being able to start your car on a cold winter day in Albany, without going outside. Or, equally, being able to get the air conditioning going on a hot summer day before you leave the house. A device like this can save you time and hassle and can drastically improve your in-car experience. However, only late-model and high-end cars tend to be factory-available with remote starters. It's up to you to take advantage of this feature by contacting your local car electronics expert for advice and service. Whether you live in Albany, NY, or Zamora, CA, you'll benefit from the comfort and convenience of having a remote car starter installed.

In addition to physical comfort, there's also mental comfort to consider. In this day and age, music and other audio content has become a primary form of entertainment, and of staying informed and connected to the world. However, few factory-made car stereo systems offer the accessories, sound quality, and control necessary to optimally enjoy audio content. The OEM system, especially if the car is a few years old, won't typically have plug-ins for your personal music player, and the speaker quality and balance often leaves something to be desired. The good news is, you don't have to make do with the sound system and audio accessories that your car came with. Whether you're in Albany or elsewhere across the country, a mobile audio specialist can help you optimize your car stereo system to suit your needs with specific music player integration systems, new head units, and a range of speakers, amps, and equalizers. You can be as elaborate or as bare-bones as you'd like when it comes to putting in a new car audio system, but no matter what your needs, you can achieve the ideal sound for your personal preferences with aftermarket audio equipment.

Your car and all its component parts should work for you, not just for a generic customer. Installing remote starters and customized car audio systems are two simple ways that you can make sure that your car is truly serving you as an individual.

Buy Cheap Quality Cars and Save Thousands

Did you know that you can buy cars that are up to 90% off book value? Yes it is true. It is exactly like homes being bank-owned. More and more cars are being bank-owned now, too because their owners cannot pay their credit bills, so consequently the bank is taking the cars back.

What they do is that they put the cars on auctions or they lower the prices of the cars. And this is a perfect opportunity for everyone who wants a really good quality cheap car. The best part is though that you can find cars from luxury models to economy models and save thousands of dollars.

Today, it is important to have a good looking quality car, and for most of the people especially the young people it is very important because that car kind of represents themselves and their image. Who doesn't want to look good with his/her car? Who doesn't want to be proud having a nice car and going out with it? But the frustration for everyone is that those nice, good looking cars are just too expensive, so not many people can afford it to buy one. Even if you go to one of those "used cars"-stores outside you will not find a really cheap car that functions because mostly you have to spend some extra money to fix some errors.

Why do you waste your time going out from store to store desperately looking for the right car with the right price while there is a much better, easier, and time saving solution to it? The best thing about this is that you don't have to go out anymore. You can save up to 90 %, and that means that you can save a lot of money. Just imagine what you could do with all that money that you saved...You can even buy a second car with that money that you saved. Isn't that great?

Why are they giving you up to 90% off? The reason is that the cost of storing those cars is too expensive for them, so they have to lower the prices and sell the cars as soon as possible. And this is the only way to get rid of the storing costs of the cars.

It is the best opportunity that you can ever have for finding good, cheap cars. Go, take this big opportunity and get your favorite car with the cheapest price now.

eBay and Car Stereo Parts

Surprisingly, one of the very best places to start looking for your brand new car stereo system is on eBay. You can find some amazing deals on both new and used stereo parts. In addition, you can find a significant amount of manufacturers that may not be available in your area especially if you live in a more rural area. eBay also allows you to by one part of a car stereo system at a time so you do not break the bank by purchasing a $3000 car stereo system all at once.

Why choose eBay over your local car parts dealer? Even after shipping, you can almost always find a better deal from a wholesaler on eBay then you can at a local parts dealer. The markup on speakers when you go to a retail store is outrageous. In general the only time that you can find better prices is during a liquidation or going out of business sale. At a minimum, go lookup fair market value prices on eBay before you go to your local retailer.

Are there any problems with eBay? Unfortunately, there are. Even though most eBay sellers have good intentions, you do not have the opportunity to physically examine the product before it shows up on your doorstep. This can cause a massive amount of time wasted trying to get your money back and shipping the item back to the seller. In addition if you have questions, you will not be able to ask the stores associate in person. This can be a problem if you do not know about the product you are buying. But keep in mind that you can e-mail the seller on eBay to get all your questions answered before you buy your new car stereo parts. One final problem with eBay is that you do not get to listen to the sound system before you buy. This means that you may not like that 12" sub-woofer that you are buying. Maybe it is just too loud and intense for your tiny little car. However, you can always go to your local retailer and pick out the speaker system that you want in the store and then go back to eBay to find the best deal.

If you are looking for a good deal, then try shopping online. You should also try other online retailers like Amazon to find out if there are retailers out there offering even better prices. However, with eBay you can see how many items the retailer sold and what the buyers actually thought about the seller. If you go to some random website, there is a small chance that they could be trying to scam you which makes eBay much safer in many cases.

When Your Car's Parts Are Hard To Find

One of the major problems that classic car owners have is that they have a hard time locating the right kind of auto parts or replacement parts for their vehicle. This is mainly because most auto parts stores at present offer only auto parts for the most popular vehicle makes and models as well as the auto parts for the newest cars in the market. They do not take into consideration that there are still old cars still alive and working that also need some auto parts replacements.

So how do you find that elusive auto part for your car?

Join Auto Clubs

You can try joining auto clubs and ask around with other members who own the same vehicle as you. That way, you can ask them where they get their replacement parts. You can search for such auto clubs using car magazines or you can search through the Internet for them.

Be An Online Hunter

Take full advantage of what the Internet has to offer. You can exhaust all search engines for auction sites or online bulletin boards. Many stores or sources of auto parts replacements for classic or old cars advertise their products online. Put these sites in your archives so you can visit them regularly and check for updates. Or, you can also contact these sources yourself and ask them if they can get the auto part that you want for you.

Be A Scarp Yard Scavenger

On one of your spare and free days, you can take a dive to a local scrap yard. Many owners of classic cars share that they are able to look for good replacement parts for their classic vehicles from scrap yards. They do maintain though that you should be patient enough to go through the stack of cars at these scrap yards.

Cars Performance Parts Information - Raw Performance Information

Hi I just briefly want to share some information on cars performance parts .Rare and common parts. If anyone is interested in using the same site I use to get them click the link below and one of the ads to be directed to it.

Cars performance parts can be hard to find a good deal online on especially because some can be illegal in some places and aren't as BIG mainstream as other things available for sale. cars performance parts such as neon gas, strobe lights, nitrous oxide etc are hard to find on the internet as well as a good deal on them and I don't buy anything until I do find a good buy. Those are the ones that people are after to pimp up their cars with.

Anyway getting back to what performance parts are Neon/led, strobe lights, nos and air intakes, there are others such as exhaust systems and brakes.

Neon/led and strobe lights change the cars appearance. Neon is an inert non-reactive gas with no color. however, when you put it in a tube and send electricity through it, it glows a bright color.

Nitrous oxide (N2O), is a non-flammable, non-explosive gas that acts as an oxidizing agent with gasoline or methanol to improve the rate and efficiency of combustion. This gives a massive boost to engine horse power. Before using it in a car its important to check to see if the engine and transmission will handle it and that the engine hasn't been greatly modified. It is more effective on stock engines.

A cold air intake is a system used to bring down the temperature of the air going into the car to increase the power of the engine. It makes the combustion a bit bigger. They also make the engine run longer because it keeps it cooler. Cold air intakes also give more miles to the gallon because the engine isn't doing as much work

if anyone is interested in using the same site I use to get parts click the link below and then one of the ads to be directed to the site if you are interested.

Fast Cars And The Weight Issue

Weight is one of the most important issues to consider when building a fast car for road or track.
Putting a car on a serious diet is pretty much free horsepower, as any attempt to lighten a car improves the power to weight ratio, this seriously improves acceleration.

The gains on a lightening a car are huge and not just limited to gains in acceleration either. Once you have lightened a fast car you will find the car performs better in the corners and under braking, parts such as brakes and tires will last longer on the car also.

The potential gains are huge but it must be done correctly, you would not want to lighten a rear wheel drive car too much on the rear or you may find traction a problem particularly with a high power output.

The truth is your fast car could be made a great deal faster cheaply and easily just by shaving a few pounds off the body.

How do we remove weight from the fast car?

This bit is as easy as you want it to be, but as with most forms of car modification it depends on how far you want to go. I know a guy who races a BMW and he decided to go all out on weight saving, he even scraped every bit of under-seal from the floors of the car, extreme perhaps but he managed to remove nearly 2 stone of under-seal, not a bad effort.

The obvious place to start saving weight on your fast car is by removing the interior, and anything else that you do not need, the front seats can be replaced with light weight racing items, the unused wiring removed, carpets and sound deadening, pretty much all of the unnecessary parts, my car has just a driver seat and a cage with much of the unnecessary wiring removed. This makes for a car with very impressive performance.

Many other components can be replaced with lighter parts, gear box casings, axle covers etc. It is worth noting that a stainless steel exhaust is lighter than the same in mild steel, so this constitutes a worthwhile investment.

It is also important to reduce the unsprung weight on the car also, by this I mean wheels, brakes and anything else before the suspension mounts, this provides a very good increase in the handling of the car.

Finding the Right Car and Auto Parts

Motor vehicles contain hundreds of moving parts that receive normal wear and tear every time you drive the car. Weather also has an impact on auto parts because most cars are exposed to all of the extremes of heat, cold, and moisture of the outside world. Between the normal wear and tear and the impact of the weather, car and auto parts will break down after time and need to be replaced. If you like to save a little money by replacing your car's parts yourself, there are several ways to find the car and auto parts you need.

New Parts

Brand new replacement parts can be very simple to find if your car is less than five years old. Most dealers have access to a full complement of parts that they can have shipped directly from the factory. Since dealerships also offer auto repair, you may find that the part you need is already on-site in the repair shop and they will sell it to you right away. The only problem with replacing parts on new cars is that many of the most recent models have parts that have to be changed using specific tools. It can be less expensive and time consuming to have the work done in the auto dealer's shop if your car is a very new model.

Used and Refurbished Parts

Finding parts for cars that are more than five years old is not difficult, but it is not quite as easy as finding newer parts. You may get lucky and find that the dealer still stocks the part you need, especially if it is a fundamental engine part that is similar in most cars. If the part you need is not readily available at the dealership, you may be able to find a suitable used or refurbished part at a local auto mechanic or salvage yard. There are also car and auto parts for sale online through auction sites or specialty sites dedicated to your type of car.

What to Expect From Your Local Retailer

Local auto repair retail stores will have many of the regular maintenance parts that commonly need to be replaced. You will be able to buy things like belts, hoses, and even smaller engine components like fuel pumps. Not every retailer has access to the same variety of parts. If you need something specific, speak with a clerk to find out if it is something the retail store can acquire for you. Usually the store will be able to give you an idea of where to find the part if they can't order it for you.

How to Find Parts for Older Cars

Older car parts can be trickier to track down. If your car is over ten years old, your first stop for replacement parts may need to be a salvage yard. Look through your local phone book for salvage yards in your area. Most of them focus on specific types of car parts, like foreign or domestic. Calling around will save you quite a bit of time before you begin to visit salvage yards.

FTC Used Car Rule - Part 1

Franchised dealers who sell used vehicles must comply with the Federal Trade commission's Used Car Rule including dealers who sell more than five vehicles in a twelve month period. Financial institutions and banks are exempt from the rule.

The used car rule applies in all states except Maine and Wisconsin. These two states are exempt because they have similar regulations that require dealers to post disclosures on used vehicles. The rule applies in the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa.

You must display a Buyers Guide before you "offer" a used vehicle for sale. A vehicle is offered for sale when you display it for sale or let a customer inspect it for the purpose of buying it, even if the car is not ready for delivery. At public auctions, dealers AND the auction company must comply. The rule does not apply to auctions that are closed to consumers.

Exceptions to the rule are: Motorcycles; Any vehicle sold for scrap or parts; Agricultural equipment.

THE BUYERS GUIDE is a disclosure document that gives consumers important purchasing and warranty information, the Buyers Guide discloses to consumers:

* whether the vehicle is being sold "as is" or with a warranty;

* what percentage of the repair costs a dealer will pay under warranty;

* that oral promises are difficult to enforce;

* to get all promises in writing;

* to keep the Buyers Guide for reference after the sale;

* the major mechanical and electrical systems on the car as well as some of the major problems that consumers should look out for;

* to ask to have the car inspected by an independent mechanic before they buy.

If a used car transaction is conducted in Spanish, a Spanish language Buyers Guide must be posted on the vehicle before it can be displayed or offered for sale.

The Buyers Guide must be posted PROMINENTLY and CONSPICUOUSLY on or in a vehicle when a car is available for sale. This means it must be in plain view with both sides visible. You can hang the Guide from the rear-view mirror inside the car or from the side-view mirror outside the car. It can also be placed under a windshield wiper. A guide also can be attatched to a side window. A guide cannot be placed under a seat or in the glove compartment because it is not in plain sight.

The Guide can be removed for a test drive, but must be replaced as soon as the test drive is over.

Convert to Hydrogen Fuel For Cars and Save Money!

Making use of fuel hydrogen for cars is around for more than a few years. There are some lucky few who have got benefited from these new techniques, which permit them to make use of water in car in order to gain mpg in this radical way. Here is a easy breakdown of how water and gas method exactly works.

How this system works

The technology that is used for implementation of hydrogen fuel for the cars is nothing very new. In fact, it has been around for a very long time. There are thousands of pages on Internet that will give details how it works, but majority of it is filled with the scientific crud, which will loose majority of the people. I will keep it very simple as possible, as it is quite easy to put into practice.

Let it be identified that you don't require going to extreme such as over hauling the engines or else redoing the whole thing under your hood. The hydrogen fuel for cars is done in a pretty simple way, with necessary tools and supplies, which you can pick from any local hardware shop.

Making Use hydrogen fuel cars

It uses your car battery to separate water (that is what you put in, besides gas that you already use) from gas that is called "HHO". It has one part of oxygen and other two parts of hydrogen. When it is mixed together, HHO is three times more powerful that any of the gas is.

Under your hood quart sized container is placed and it is filled with tap water, with a little of baking soda. Bear in mind that everything other than the tap water is not compulsory in most of the cases. After that comes little vacuum action that is caused by engines itself. The electricity comes from the engines, and it makes HHO, which is necessary for hydrogen fuel for cars.

Conclusion

However these all are basics, however getting your car to run with hydrogen will take little more steps. You will have to make some easy modifications in order to fit the container under your hood; you will see that the easiest blueprints are found on the Internet. A guide that is found on Internet is as well something, which is suggested, since it makes ten times faster to apply.

At present, rich and wealthy people will see at this know-how and believe it is not worth of their time and money, but it is middle class people who will get advantage from it the main. Do yourself a little favor and go on Internet and search for the forums and you will see there are hundreds of posts concerning it. You can also make a well-versed decision when evaluating results from the people who have by now given it a go also tested it out in car. However using hydrogen fuel for the cars is a bit that a lot of people are supposed to think looking in and forums are easy way to get information.

Why Visit Used Car Dealers When Shopping For a Car and What Not to Tell Them

You are in the market for a new used car. Where should you start to look? You do have some options like looking in the local newspaper ads or visiting used car dealers. Buying from an individual can be risky because they may be dumping a clunker. And they certainly won't tell you this is what they are doing. They will polish and clean that car so it looks so pretty and shiny. They may spray stuff on the tires to make them look newer. But in the end they have sold you a bad deal. The worst part is they won't take you old car as a trade in or take the car back.

Used car dealers on the other hand have certain standards and business practices they have to follow. When they take a car in for trade it has to pass a detailed check list. They generally won't take in a car for sale that they can't re-sell quickly. They don't need to have unsold cars just parked on the lot because this is a way to lose money. Used car dealers don't want to lose money. They also don't want to have that clunker waiting for a buyer. They want to have decent cars available to sell to you, preferably one that you can drive for a while.

Used car sales people make their living by selling you a car for which they then get paid a commission from the dealer for making the sale. Some used car sales people can be pretty aggressive. But they have to be. Selling used cars is a tough business. But they do want to sell you a car. And you want to buy a car because you are standing in their lot talking about buying a car from them.

Most likely you have to have your purchase financed. Perhaps you are hoping the dealer will put together a finance package for you. If this is the case, you will have to provide certain information regarding your employment and where you live. You have your current driver's license with you. You also should have proof of insurance for the car you are presently driving. You should also have a current pay stub that has been issued within the past 30 days. This will show that you are employed.

As you hand over the pay stub you don't want to tell them the business you are working for is closing down. You also don't want to tell them you are moving out of state next week. Some things they will find out when they run your credit report but a lot of stuff just doesn't show up on them. Another bit of information you don't want to tell them is that you are getting a divorce. Any one of these pieces of information will raise red flags and most likely you will be denied a car loan. Work with them and they will work with you.

New Vs. Used Car Performance Parts: Which Way to Go?

Maintenance is to the car what food is to the body. For a motor vehicle to function properly, it needs constant maintenance. The maintenance takes the form of cleaning and replacing worn out parts with performance accessories. Car accessories are subject to wearing out. When automobile accessory wears out, you are supposed to replace it. The replacement can be with new car performance parts or with used ones. Sometimes you can change vehicle parts before they wear out if you plan to replace them with high performance accessories.

Why Your Car Needs Performance Parts?

Car performance parts are not ordinary vehicle accessories; they are parts that will completely transform your car. As the name suggests, the car performance parts highly improve the performance of your automobile. This performance is in form of speed and mileage. If you are a fan of fast cars, then you need to replace your vehicle's ordinary auxiliaries with high-grade performance accessories. In addition, if you drive for long distances and want to drive for long distances without stoppages caused by car breakdowns, you need good quality car performance parts. With the necessary parts installed, you will not only get to where you want to get fast enough, but you will also get there without stoppages caused by breakdowns. Examples of performance accessories are turbo kits, right wheels and exhaust pipes.

New Vs. Old Car Performance Parts - A Comparison

When replacing vehicle ordinary auxiliaries with car performance parts, a good number of people go for used spares. They do this as they deem the used accessories cheap. By buying used automobile spares, you have the guarantee of getting original accessories at relatively low prices. The only problem with used car parts is their short life. Remember that these spares were once used in another car and were removed from that car probably due to some fault. When you buy used parts, they may not last for long in your car. In the end, these used parts will be more expensive than they seemed.

New car performance parts are relatively expensive. Though expensive, the new auxiliaries serve you for long. Once fitted in your vehicle, you will go for long without the need for replacements. The main risk with new parts is the risk of buying counterfeit accessories. If you are not careful, you might end up buying fake accessories. Careful shopping will help you get original parts.

Why You Should Settle For New Car Performance Parts?

With new parts, you can be sure of a continued high performance for your car. You will go for a long time without the worry of the parts wearing out. The parts may seem relatively expensive as compared to used parts but they are not, considering the period they will serve you.

When trying to improve the performance of your vehicle, try to settle for new parts as they will not only improve the performance of your car, but will also serve you for long. The longer the auxiliaries serve you, the more you save in terms of repairs and maintenance.

Remote Control Cars And Trucks

One of the best things about childhood is the toys and the older you get the better they get. Remote control cars and so on are fabulous fun whether you play on your own or with a group of friends. They can give hours of entertainment and keep the kids, and sometimes the husbands, out of trouble.

There is no limit to the variations in cars, trucks and so on that are available to buy on the market today, twenty odd years ago it was a far different story but now we are inundated with choice and variety. There are sports cars, vintage vehicles and even formula one cars, in addition to this you can have trucks and all-terrain vehicles.

The possibilities for this past-time are endless and the fun by no means has to stop once you grow up. There are numerous groups in every country that meet to discuss and show off their latest toy and they also perform races. So you could take part in a formula one race, an off-road rally or even a monster truck derby.

These fun filled cars are simply scaled down models of the original, in many ways they have all the same details and are capable of relatively similar speeds, when you consider their size that is. You wont find a RC car that can do 200mph but one has been modified by a professional RC car racer and has broken his own world record for the fastest RC car. Previously it stood at 134mph, now it is at a staggering 161mph.

The average top speed of any RC vehicle depends greatly on what it is based on, an off road vehicle will not go as quickly as a road based one but the off road version can be a lot more fun. Some off road designs allow he car to flip and run up-side down and the wheels can even change shape to enable to the get out of tricky places.

There are many places where you can purchase RC cars and trucks, shops sell them and there are countless places online that stock them but if you are looking for something more than just a toy for your child then you need to consider spending a little more and visiting an specialist shop or internet site.

Whether you go to a physical shop or find a great site make sure you speak to someone about your requirements so they can talk you through the models that have and what they can do. That way you can be sure of getting an RC vehicle that does what you want it to, and that it is suitable to your level of experience.

There is no point getting a super fast race car and smashing it up in the first day you have it, listen to the sales person and follow their suggestions. If RC racing is going to become a permanent hobby then you need to take the time to build up your knowledge base and experience with the slower and easier to control models before tacking the big boys.

Performance Computer Chips For Cars And Trucks

Hey, look under the hood!

It's a bird!

It's a plane!

It's SUPERCHIP!

With apologies to Superman, performance computer chips or superchips are quickly becoming a popular way for auto enthusiasts to squeeze out more power from their cars. Basically what a superchip mod does is to store a new engine management program in your car's computer. Noticeable increases in horsepower and torque as well as improvements in driveability are the chief benefits of this type of chip. Installation is easy and the price is right...we'll examine just how easy and cost effective a superchip is below.

Depending on the make/model of your car or truck, a superchip can help your vehicle crank out from 9 to 60 more horsepower. Not too shabby when you consider some compact cars barely make it to 115 horses. Yeah, you could have elected for the more powerful engine with some cars but the $1000 or better mark up in price dwarfs the price of a superchip. Better to go with the superchip and pocket the savings.

So, how hard is it to install a superchip? Actually, it is really a simple procedure:

1. Locate your car's computer chip [usually found in your dashboard].

2. Remove the factory installed chip and replace it with the superchip...one chip slides out and the other slides in.

3. Place a cover over the chip to keep it in place and to keep dirt and dust out.

That's it! The hardest part will be to remove the dash, but even that job isn't all that difficult.

As I said previously, the price of installing a superchip can be done for a lot less than an engine upgrade. Prices start below $300, so it ends up being one the cheaper performance enhancing mods out there.

You can also find other types of performance computer chips that will work well including Jet Chips and the Hypertech performance chip. With either chip you stand to wring out additional performance from your car for a reasonably priced mod. Hey, if it is increased performance you want then one of these chips is for you!

RUST - The Enemy of All Car Owners Part 2 - Rust Prevention

In part 1 of these articles we looked at why things rust and the chemistry of rusting. In this article we will look at some of the ways we can prevent rusting taking place and how to deal with rusted components. If the rust has gone too far then the car parts will need to be replaced, and although obtaining replacement parts online is relatively easy, it is better to prevent rust in the first place.

We have already shown that for rusting to take place there have to be three components present. These are iron, water and oxygen. If we can exclude any one of these then we will prevent rust. We also know that if the water is more acid and contains things like dissolved road salt then rusting will be more rapid.

One way to prevent rusting is to isolate these components, for instant using paint. Paints keep out moisture to a large extent, but they are not impenetrable by moisture. Good quality car paint will prevent moisture penetration for many years, but eventually, as it is subject to the rigours of heat, cold, surface abrasion by dust and atmospheric pollution it will become less resistant and allow moisture to penetrate. One way of helping paint maintain its protective properties is by refreshing the surface using wax.

Regular waxing of car paintwork is highly recommended and to ensure that this is maintained you should never allow the paint surface to become hydrophilic, it should always be hydrophobic. You can tell if this is the case by looking at water droplets on the paint surface. If they form tiny separate water droplets then you have a hydrophobic surface and are protected against rust, if the water droplets smear out into a film then the surface is hydrophobic and re-waxing is required.

The best way of waxing your car is to use a hand applied proprietary car wax rather than a wax additive in a car wash which are not as effective. First you should ensure that your car is spotlessly clean. Take a damp sponge and either smear it with wax or apply wax to the car surface. Apply the wax evenly over a section of the car. Let it sit for a few minutes, then polish it away.

Smart Used Car Shopping - Part 7

As we are approaching the end of this article series, it is very important to discuss a factor that allows the dealerships to take advantage of your love to a certain option in the car. first lets start be recapping that I spoke about the importance of brainstorming, and how starting with a large list then narrowing down is very critical to the satisfaction level associated with the final decision. Also, the importance of gathering different quotes was discussed, along with identifying the key to an analytic test drive. But before I go on, I need to remind you that shopping for a used car is not something the average person intends to do very often or at least not as much as he or she goes out grocery shopping. If you go out shopping while hungry you may buy things that you don't need, on the other hand if you go out shopping without a list, the odds are that you are going to get home and figure that you forgot to buy something. In other words, you need to engage in smart used car shopping. So, let's get to business.

During your research you may have found an option that you found to be nice to have in your car, however this option may not be available in every car that you look at. It is not wrong to fall in love with an option, but it is very critical for you not to base your final decision strictly based on the availability of this option. You need to construct a weighted analysis, and come up with the optimum decision. The more flexible you are, the wider range of choices you will have to choose from, and this ultimately means that you will have a better bargaining power. Car Performance Parts For Effective and Long-Term Customization

The aftermarket car parts industry excels in providing the most up-to-date and highest quality car performance parts for long-term modification of your vehicle. These parts have the ability to fine tune the performance of your engine, thus increasing its life and rendering it more reliable and tough. There are many types of performance parts available out there for specific car models. Since these parts are completely custom designed, they are very effective and long lasting. In addition to this, they are designed in a manner that almost anyone can install them easily at home without having to take the car to a workshop.

The most widely used performance part is a performance or power chip which can be used to change your engine's default parameters. As a result of this modification the engine delivers fuel efficiently and at specified time intervals to realize enhanced performance particularly on rough terrains and bumpy roads. Consequently gas mileage also increases, thus saving you money in the long run. A wide range of performance chips are available on the market and they are not very expensive at all. These chips can serve to be a cost-effective alternative to complete engine upgradation. And the best thing is they are quite easy to install.

Other performance parts include air intakes, performance mufflers, performance modules, superchargers, fuel saving devices, and performance spark plugs. All these parts are now easily available online for nearly all car makes and models. Some people also replace their car's oxygen sensors, catalytic converter, fuel pumps, and fuel injectors to realize a further increase in horsepower and torque. New air intakes have the ability to increase horsepower up to 25 units and other performance parts such as superchargers can increase your car engine's output by 20%. When you install these pats your engine becomes more responsive and efficient and also produces a highly intimidating rumble.

Fuel saving devices, such as fuel ionizer, can prove to be highly beneficial car performance parts. You can increase the fuel economy of your car by installing these parts, thus saving gas and money. These parts have the ability to make your engine burn fuel more efficiently and reduce fuel costs by 25%. You can find custom designed fuel saving devices for your car by specifying its make, model and year. In addition to this, you may need to enter information regarding your engine size, type and transmission type (automatic or manual) to find the best part for enhancing your car's performance.

Performance modules are composed of engine monitoring and performance units, turbo whistlers, and oxygen or O2 sensors. An engine monitoring unit is available for as low as $250 and can be used to record your driving data and transfer it to a PC for further analysis and calculations. O2 or lambda sensors are used to measure the amount of oxygen in the gas. As a result of this measurement, you can optimize your engine's fuel injection capability and emission control by changing the air-fuel-ratio. Emission control helps to reduce the amount of unburnt fuel from entering the atmosphere and causing pollution.
